SOOP is proud to launch our latest STAR endeavor – SOOP SATURDAYS! Conceived in response to feedback from our students, this program is designed for high school-aged students (grades 9 – 12) who have a strong interest in theatre, participate regularly in their high school or local theatre productions, but may not have specific training in any / all of the various aspects of this craft needed to present a polished, professional audition and performance.
If you’re hoping to get some form of training during your “downtime”, or even while you’re “in-production”, this program is designed for you! SOOP SATURDAYS creates a comprehensive theatre education experience through four individual components – (1) Acting Auditions, (2) Dance, (3) Movement for Actors and (4) Musical Auditions. Each unique class experience is geared toward the needs of the high school theatre student as they prepare to participate locally…or beyond!
Classes will be offered in two fifteen week semesters – Fall and Spring. Within each semester, students are free to register for whatever interests them and in whatever order they would like (ie, acting one week, dance the next, acting again, movement, back to dance, etc). The program is designed so that no pre-requisite is required for any given class session. This allows a student with a busy schedule to jump in and out when they have time and not feel like they must have a certain amount of consecutive Saturdays free in order to participate.
