As a performer Gayle has worked on Broadway, National Tours, Regional Theaters, cruise ships and with Symphony Orchestras across the country. While in her 20′s, Gayle went to an audition for a production of A Chorus Line and, apropos to the show, was asked by the Casting Director, “What do you do if you can’t dance anymore?” Gayle’s first thought was, “I want to do what you do.” So began a journey that led her to work alongside Scott Wojcik with Wojcik/Seay Casting. She now has the pleasure to cast all of the things she was once fortunate enough to be hired to do as an actor. Remembering what it was like to be on the other side of the table fuels her to create an audition environment where actors can do their best work and feel safe and taken care of. Her favorite saying when teaching is “Not right doesn’t mean not good. Remember that!”
After a brief lecture/Q&A, Gayle will hear a 16 bar cut of a song (please prepare two!) and give her expert coaching and feedback on your audition cut. This class will be run like a professional **Broadway audition, with the added benefit of a group setting and working notes.
(**This workshop is for educational purposes only and cannot and will not be treated as an audition.)
